To Healthy Youthful Skin
Sharing my favorite ingredients in skincare, including some favorite products. These powerhouse ingredients will transform your skincare routine and elevate your game. These ingredients have a permanent place in my regimen because they show results! Here are the game changers that keep my skin glowing. (This post is not sponsored)
01.
SPF
Your daily sunscreen. Essential for daily skincare, SPF protects the skin from harmful UV rays, preventing sun damage, premature aging, and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Sunscreen is a must, every. single. day. Even if you are not planning on being outside much! A great sunscreen is one that also acts as a moisturizer and works well under makeup! This one is my favorite from elta MD. It goes on smooth, gives me protection, does not clog my pores, and plays nice with my makeup!
02.
Retinol
A derivative of vitamin A, retinol promotes skin renewal, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. It enhances collagen production for smoother, youthful-looking skin.
Remember, there is a difference between retinol and a retinoid! Retinol is a milder form of the prescription strength retinoid, which is a derivative of Vitamin A. Both can have great results and depending on brand and strength, can be very potent. Remember, these ingredients can be very irritating to the skin. It is important to go slow with use by using only a few times a week and building up to more from there.
03.
Vitamin C
A powerful antioxidant, vitamin C brightens the complexion, protects against free radicals, and boosts collagen synthesis, contributing to a radiant and even skin tone. Ive tried all of these options linked and really like them all!
04.
Hyaluronic Acid
A hydrating powerhouse, hyaluronic acid retains moisture, plumping the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines. It provides essential hydration for a healthy and supple complexion. You can find serums to add to your favorite moisturizer or find a daily moisturizer that already has it!
05.
Salicylic Acid
A Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), salicylic acid penetrates into pores, making it ideal for acne-prone skin. It exfoliates, unclogs pores, and reduces excess oil, helping to prevent and treat breakouts. Check out my blog post explaining this further!
06.
Glycolic Acid
An Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), glycolic acid exfoliates the skin’s surface, promoting cell turnover. It addresses uneven skin tone, fine lines, and dullness, revealing a smoother and brighter complexion. Check out my blog post explaining this further!
08.
Niacinamide
Also known as vitamin B3, niacinamide is a versatile ingredient that soothes, hydrates, and improves the skin barrier. It helps reduce redness, minimize pores, and addresses concerns like hyperpigmentation. This is another serum that you can buy and add to your daily moisturizer or check the label of your current favorite moisturizer to see if it is already in the ingredients!
Incorporating these skincare ingredients into your routine can target specific concerns and contribute to overall skin health. Remember to introduce new products gradually and monitor your skin’s response for optimal results.
